Stunning Video Shows New Hospital in Downtown Largo

The new Prince George's Regional Medical Center is the centerpiece of a huge project in the county.

LARGO, MD — Largo is going to be looking a lot different once the new Prince George's County Regional Medical Center gets built. That's obvious from a new video released by the county, which shows artist renderings of what the massive new facility will look like when it's built.

Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker recently tweeted out a video showing the new hospital and all the buildings that will support it. The county finally received approval from the state on Thursday to start building the hospital, allowing them to release the plans to the public.

The project will replace the Prince George's Hospital Center. It is led by the University of Maryland Medical System in partnership with Dimensions Healthcare System. Officials hope to complete the hospital by July 2020, and the budget for the project is about $543 million.
