Suspect Used Umbrella To Commit Armed Robberies: Police
A suspect is in custody after police say he used an umbrella to commit two armed robberies of gas station convenience stores.
BOWIE, MD — The suspect sought in two armed robberies that happened Tuesday has been arrested.
Surprisingly, the weapon the suspect used to commit the two robberies was an umbrella.
On Tuesday at approximately 11:05 p.m., the suspect used an umbrella to rob a gas station convenience store located in the 3500 block of Crain Highway. Employee told Prince George's Police that an undisclosed amount of money was stolen from the cash register. No injuries were reported. Shortly before this reported robbery, the suspect allegedly robbed another nearby convenience store, police reported.

Wednesday morning, detectives from the PGPD Auto Crimes Unit found the car that was used in the two robberies at Bowie Town Center and took the driver into custody. According to police, they will continue to investigate the incident.
