Teen Rapper Baby K Pleads Guilty In PGCPS School Bus Attack

Teen rapper Baby K has entered a plea in the attempted murder case of a fellow teen on a Prince George's school bus.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A teenager known as Baby K has pleaded guilty in connection to the attempted shooting of another teen that unfolded on a Prince George's school bus in May 2023.

Kaeden Holland was 15 when he and three other teens charged onto a PGCPS school bus around 5 p.m. May 1, 2023, and tried to shoot a student, but the gun malfunctioned. The teenager suffered minor injures during the assault. Two adults - a bus driver and a bus aide - were on or near the bus at the time and were uninjured. The incident happened when the bus was stopped at Iverson Street and Sutler Drive in Oxon Hill to drop off students, Patch reported previously.

Under the terms of the deal, Holland, now 16, pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder and weapons charges. The deal calls for a 60-year sentence, with all but 25 years suspended. His sentencing has been set for May 17. If the judge accepts the deal, the teenager would be housed at Patuxtent Institution, a maximum-security adult prison that offers therapy and counseling programs.

"This isn't a drill rap or trap music video. this is real life and life has consequences. When individuals commit crimes that endanger and put so many lives at risk, as in this case, my office has no choice but to hold them fully accountable and that is what we have done in this case," State's Attorney Aisha Braveboy said at a news conference.

While more than 80% of these types of cases are sent back down to juvenile court, Judge Michael Whelan cited the fact Holland had been previously charged with gun violations at age 14 and did not complete the terms of his probation, WTOP reported.

A 14-year-old middle school girl previously had been arrested and charged with attempted murder for her role in the gang-related attack on a Prince George's County school bus where one student was almost shot, authorities said.
