UPDATE: Trash Collection Halted, TheBus Operating Some Routes
Prince George's County trash collection will resume on Monday, while recycling will begin again on Saturday.

UPDATED at 12:30 p.m.
All regular trash collection, along with bulk item pickup and recycling, has been canceled for Friday by the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment.
Officials say the decision came because of road or weather-related conditions . Here is the new schedule for this week’s missed collections:

- County-contracted trash collections will resume on their next regularly scheduled collection day starting next week.
- All residential curbside recycling collections scheduled for Friday, March 6, and those missed on Thursday, March 5 will be collected on Saturday, March 7. Residents should leave their collection containers at curbside.
- Every effort will be made to complete all missed bulky trash collections scheduled for Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6 beginning Monday, March 9.
In addition, all services located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill in Upper Marlboro are currently open. The Prince George’s County Yard Waste Composting Facility and the Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility are also operating today.

Prince George’s County government is on a delayed opening until 10 a.m. Friday with a liberal leave option for all non-essential employees.
All county buildings will open at 10 a.m. Essential personnel should report as assigned.
TheBus will only operate on major arterials and collector streets Friday. As conditions permit, routes will serve local and residential streets where safe access and egress allow.
The Washington Metropolitan and Baltimore areas are under a Wind Chill Advisory until 10 a.m. Friday. Passengers should dress warmly and plan for schedule delays as a result of snow and ice on the roads.
