Two Arrested in Langley Park Murder: Police

Prince George's County Police have not yet identified the victim in the case, who was fatally stabbed.

Two Langley Park men have been arrested in connection with the robbery and murder of a man there over the weekend.

The suspects are 23-year-old Sergio Elias Serrano, 23, of the 1400 block of Kanawha Street in Langley Park and 25-year-old Julio Cesar Jacome-Rosales, 25, also of the 1400 block of Kanawha Street, says the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Officers were called to an apartment building in the 1400 block of Kanawha Street for a welfare check about 4:15 a.m. Sunday. Police found a man inside an apartment suffering from apparent stab wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim’s name will be released once his family has been notified.

Investigators say robbery was the apparent motive behind the homicide.

Serrano was arrested shortly after the homicide in a nearby apartment building. Jacome-Rosales was arrested Sunday evening near his home, police say.

Both are charged with first- and second-degree murder and armed robbery. They are in custody at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
