Two Fugitives Arrested for Attempted Murder in Drug Sale Shooting
Suspects from Landover and Upper Marlboro were arrested by sheriff's deputies for shooting someone in the neck during a drug sale.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Two men were recently arrested on warrants for attempted first-degree murder after they allegedly shot someone in the neck during an illicit drug sale.
Prince George's County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Raymond Brown of Suitland and Akai Hopkins of Upper Marlboro, who were sought for attempted first-degree murder.
According to the arrest warrant, on March 2, Brown and Hopkins met with three people in the 4000 block of Swindon Terrace in Upper Marlboro. During the drug sale, Brown and Hopkins allegedly pulled out handguns, which they both fired.

A bullet struck one of the victims in the neck; authorities say the person remains in critical condition.
Deputies were told by Hopkins’ family that he was at a residence in the 4000 block of King John Way in Upper Marlboro. They located Hopkins in a bedroom; he was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies next determined that Brown was at a residence in the 7000 block of Sheriff Road in Landover. He was taken into custody at an apartment there without incident.
Brown and Hopkins are also charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, dangerous weapon with intent to injure, handgun on a person, and reckless endangerment.
