Unknown Woman Stabbed to Death in Forestville, Police Plead for Public's Help

Police are trying to identify both the victim and the suspect in a brutal stabbing in Forestville over the weekend.

FORESTVILLE, MD — A woman who was stabbed in Forestville knocked on a resident's door begging for help before collapsing in the front yard, and police are asking for the public's help to identify her and find her killer.

Police reached a composite sketch of the victim Tuesday. Homicide Unit detectives conducted a canvass in the 3300 block of Springdale Neighborhood on Tuesday evening.

"Investigators are asking for the community’s help in identifying her so we can notify her loved ones," according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department. "Detectives also released photos of the victim’s clothing, to include a knit cap, a shirt, jeans and her socks."

Police were called to Springdale Avenue at around 8:25 a.m. on April 16 after the woman knocked on a resident's door asking for help before collapsing. The victim did not know the resident.

Police describe the woman as African-American, about 20 to 23 years old, 5'1" and 126 pounds. She did not have any identifying markings like tattoos, birthmarks, or scars.

Police are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
