Voters Boot Bowie Councilmember In Huge Landslide
Locals were reportedly angry with Diane Polangin for bringing more traffic into their district.

BOWIE, MD -- Voters overwhelming voted to recall Bowie District 2 councilmember Diane Polangin by a 1,118-497 vote margin on Tuesday.
Voters were apparently angry after Polangin voted to "bring more traffic to already overloaded residential streets of her district," according to Bowie Cities for Accountable Government as reported by the Capital Gazette. The organization petitioned the city in November after getting 3,000 signatures demanding a recall vote for Polangin.
The city will hold a special election to fill the seat in the next two to three months, and she has the option to run in that election.
