What's Open, Closed In Bowie, Prince George's County On Christmas

BOWIE, MD - Christmas is right around the corner, and that means people are closing their doors and getting ready to celebrate with family. And with the holiday falling on a Wednesday this year, that can mean a lot of confusion about what is open and what is closed, and on what days.

Not to worry: we've got a basic breakdown of what you can expect in our area over the Christmas break, via Prince George's County:

*Facility only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation, will not operate on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019. Regular operations of TheBus will resume on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019. In addition, the County’s Call-A-Bus service will not operate on Wednesday, Dec.25, 2019. Regular operations of the Call-A-Bus services will resume on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019.

The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019. Regular business hours will resume on Thursday, December 26, 2019.

In addition, Prince George’s CountyClick 3-1-1 will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019 and will return to regular operations on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019; 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/.

All Department of Parks and Recreation community centers, arts and sports facilities in Prince George’s County will be CLOSED on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 for Christmas Day and Wednesday, January 1, 2020 for New Year’s Day. Regional parks, playgrounds and trails will be open during the normal hours. ***On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, all facilities will close at 4 p.m. except rentals. Rental venues will be open for scheduled event times.
