What's Open, Closed In Bowie On Presidents Day

How does Presidents Day affect trash pickup? Is the post office open? Here are the holiday schedule changes around Bowie.

BOWIE, MD β€” Presidents Day will be a little different this time around. With coronavirus cases still high, many celebrations were canceled. The one thing locals can count on is a scheduled holiday.

Many government services are already affected by coronavirus closures, but the holiday will shake up their hours more. Here is what's opened and closed around Monday's holiday:

Prince George's County Government Offices: County government offices will be closed on Monday. A full list of when each county office and service will reopen is available at this link.

City of Bowie Government Offices: City government offices will be closed on Monday. A full list of when each city office and service will reopen is available at this link.

Courts: Courts are closed Monday. Court hours are listed here.

Parks: All parks will be open for their normal hours. For the latest updates about what parks and recreation facilities have reopened, residents can call (301) 446-3222 for a full list.

Libraries: All branches of the Prince George's County Memorial Library System are still closed for coronavirus. Patrons can now reserve books online for curbside pickup, but the service won't be available on Monday.

Post Offices: Post offices will be closed on Monday.

Trash and Recycling: There will be no curbside trash or recycling pickup in the City of Bowie on Monday. Collection will resume on your next regularly scheduled day. A schedule of Bowie's trash and recycling operations is available here.

Trains: The Metrorail and Metrobus will run on a Saturday schedule this Monday. Their holiday changes are posted here.

TheBus in Prince George's County will run the following routes on Monday:

  • 13, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 51-A/B

The MARC train will operate on Monday. All MARC schedules are listed on its website.
