Widlansky's 2-Run Single Gives Baysox Win

First-inning hit is enough as three Bowie pitchers blank Richmond.

Robbie Widlansky's two-run single in the first inning stood up as three Bowie pitchers combined for a 2-0 victory over Richmond Tuesday night.

The victory improved Bowie's record to 19-19 and stopped a three-game losing streak. Akron had just taken three games from the Baysox in Bowie.

Widlansky's single gave the Baysox the early 2-0 lead, and neither team scored the rest of the way although both had chances. Alfredo Simon, on a rehab assignment from the Orioles, threw six innings.

Daniel Klein then threw two innings before closer Jose Diaz finished up for his 12th save.
