Wife Speaks Out After Her Husband, A Prince George's Cop, Recorded With Other Woman

The wife of a PGPD officer has taken to social media after her husband was seen getting into the back seat of his patrol car with a woman.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A woman who said she is the wife of a Prince George's police officer who was recorded embracing another woman and then climbing into the back of his squad car with the other woman has spoken out on social media.

The incident happened Labor Day at a busy Southlawn neighborhood park in Oxon Hill with families and children present. A witness, TikTok user trapploss_, shot video of the in-uniform police officer, later identified by the police department as Francesco Marlett, which was shared on TikTok and then went viral. It's been viewed more than two million times since being posted.

The woman claiming to be Marlett's wife, Paula Marlett, posted on Facebook:

"Yes this is a very tough time for me and my kids. As embarrassing and painful as this is please check in on us. We need the support the love and most of all the respect from the community and our families. Yes I know what’s been going on. No, I am not updating anyone on this situation after today. Virginias husband left her *** a long time ago bc she cheated so she and my husband decided to do this behind my back for years. ... I Love you all. Except for you Virginia you can rot in hell."

The person claiming to be the woman in the video replied to Marlett's Facebook post, according to ABC7, stating that the wife cheats on the husband and told her not to be mad at her because “your husband wants me.”

The Prince George's County Police Department's internal affairs division stated Wednesday that they are investigating the officer's actions. There appears to be two videos, the department noted. Police Chief Malik Aziz has suspended Francesco Marlett.

As part of its investigation, the internal affairs division will attempt to interview all parties involved, as well as others with knowledge of the interactions. Once the investigation is complete, the administrative charging committee will make a recommendation to Aziz regarding any potential disciplinary actions. The police accountability board will also review the incident.

“I know the officer’s actions seen on these videos have sparked a range of emotions in the community and put a negative spotlight on this agency and the many hard-working women and men who wear our uniform. I expect every officer to conduct themselves in a way that will not dishonor this agency or this county. I assure the residents of Prince George’s County I take this matter extremely seriously,” Aziz said.

In 2016, a previous administration internally disciplined Marlett on sustained administrative charges of unbecoming conduct/child abuse and unbecoming conduct/assault second degree. Marlett was removed from his next promotional cycle and fined $1,500 for his actions.

Reports show that Marlett was suspended from the force without pay after being accused of beating his girlfriend's 3-year-old child unconscious, FOX5 noted.

According to Maryland Judiciary Case Search, in 2019, a hearing was held in Calvert County and a judge denied a petition for a peace order after ruling there was no statutory basis and again in 2023, after a hearing in Charles County, a judge denied a petition for a final protective order after ruling there was no statutory basis.

"In both of those instances, we took these allegations seriously and IAD conducted administrative investigations and ruled the allegations unfounded. In the 2023 case, the ACC concurred with the findings and recommended that the charges were unfounded," the police department disclosed.

According to USA Today, the Prince George’s County police union president said, “We support our officers during any and all investigations, and ask that people reserve any judgment until the facts come out. At which time, we’ll reevaluate our position.”
