Witnesses Sought In Prince George's Fatal Hit And Run Christmas Day 2021

Prince George's Police are asking anyone who witnessed a fatal hit-and-run that unfolded Christmas Day to contact them.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Witnesses who saw the fatal hit-and-run in Fort Washington Dec. 25 are asked to contact Prince George's County Police. The incident happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. Dec. 25 at the intersection of Tucker Road and Palmer Road, and led to the death of 56-year-old Juan Acevedo Castellon of Fort Washington who died of his injuries Jan. 8.

A preliminary investigation revealed Acevedo Castellon was traveling northbound on Tucker Road. It appears an unknown driver was traveling behind him in the northbound lanes and attempted to pass the victim’s truck. While attempting to pass Acevedo Castellon, the unknown driver struck his truck, causing him to lose control and strike a tree. The driver of the other vehicle did not remain on the scene.
