• Three Women Charged After Fight, Handgun Scare At California Wawa (smnewsnet.com) — Deputies recently responded to a large, unruly crowd at the Wawa on Three Notch Road in California, where a dropped handgun and a fight led to charges against three women from Great Mills and Waldorf. All were released on recognizance with conditions, and one woman is also linked to a similar crowd‑control case at the same California Wawa in 2025.
• Leadership Southern Maryland Graduates 18th Executive Program Class (thebaynet.com) — A new class of 37 regional leaders just wrapped up a nine‑month Leadership Southern Maryland Executive Program, capped by a May 14 graduation at the University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland in California. Participants from St. Mary’s, Calvert, Charles and nearby counties spent the year studying key regional issues and building connections they say will strengthen collaboration across Southern Maryland.
