• Museum Gets Half Of Requested Funding (rapptimes.news) — Essex County supervisors have agreed to give the Essex County Museum an extra $7,500, bringing county support to half of the museum’s $30,000 request while they await details on maintenance costs. The museum, which sits in downtown Tappahannock and already receives $11,000 from the town, may still seek help from the town for lawn care and building upkeep.
   

• Essex Road Projects Discussed At BOS (rapptimes.news) — Drivers in and around Tappahannock could soon see relief as VDOT pursues a $9.5 million pile-supported fix for chronic flooding on Route 17 just north of town and prepares slope repairs on Hospital Road leading to VCU Tappahannock Hospital. Supervisors also pressed the agency on overdue mowing and Johnson grass control along Essex County roads.
   

• River golfers qualify for Region 2C tournament (fincastleherald.com) — Golf fans in Tappahannock will host top high school talent when the Class 2 state tournament comes to Hobbs Hole on October 12. James River’s team just clinched its spot by finishing third in the Region 2C sub-region, joining Radford and Floyd County in the upcoming championship field.
