100 Volunteers Set-up 1,000 Full-Size American Flags for Memorial Day Weekend Charlestown Field of Honor
Silent Generation and Local Civic Groups Celebrate Patriotism

CATONSVILLE, MD -- More than 100 volunteers -- representing the Silent Generation, high school students, college students, Catonsville Lions Club and Rotary Club members, and Boy Scouts – on Thursday, May 25 (2 p.m. - 5 p.m.) will set-up and install 1,000 full-size American flags for this coming Memorial Day weekend Charlestown Field of Honor presented by Hubbard Funeral Home. They will also set-up lighting and tents.
The Charlestown Field of Honor Opening ceremony will be Friday, May 26, at 7 p.m., immediately followed by fireworks. Sue Ellen Grove will sing The National Anthem.
The Charlestown Field of Honor will be open to the public through Monday, May 29. Proceeds from sponsorship of flags will benefit area veterans organizations year-round. Charlestown is managed by Erickson Living.
