The Arc Baltimore Presents Foster Care Award

The Arc Baltimore recently presented its Foster Care Excellence Award to area resident Carolyn Williams.

The Arc Baltimore recently presented its Foster Care Excellence Award to Carolyn Williams. The Foster Care Excellence Award is given to a foster family that demonstrates an outstanding ability to meet the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of a child.

Williams has been a foster parent with The Arc Baltimore since 2001. She has always been a dedicated advocate for her foster children. Most recently, she has been working with the social work team on behalf of her foster daughter, a five-year old with autism.

Carolyn is using creative ways to help the little girl’s over-fascination with water, and they have made great progress so the child knows what water is for play or use and what water to avoid. Carolyn even has her enrolled in a swimming group so the little girl can enjoy water in a very positive way. She is involved in all the therapies and school supports to help her little girl reach important milestones.
