Happy Saturday, Catonsville! Let's get you all caught up to start today off on an informed note.

First, today's weather:

Warmer with clouds and sun. High: 57 Low: 46.

Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

  1. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred announced the cancellation of at least the first week of Major League Baseball's regular-season games due to the lack of a new collective bargaining agreement. Economist Anirban Basu thinks this is the worst time to cancel the games and the "the animosity" of the public could linger. But 31-year-old Roni Pereira, of Catonsville, said "the circumstances won't impact their love" of The Baltimore Orioles. Pereira has tickets to an Orioles game in April and if it is canceled, "his resentment would be directed toward the league, not his favorite team." (Baltimore Sun)
  2. Baltimore County Police are still looking for the two suspects that broke into a business located in the 6800 block of Belair Rd. on Feb. 16. Police ask anyone with information on the suspects to contact the Baltimore County Police Burglary Unit. (Press Release Desk)
  3. If you're traveling on I-70 east this weekend, you may hit some traffic due to a trucker convoy heading to Washington, D.C. The convoys of truckers and their allies, which gathered in western Maryland yesterday before their weekend drive to the Capitol, are reportedly protesting COVID-19-related restrictions at the federal and local levels, modeling their protest after the Freedom Convoy that blockaded downtown Ottawa for weeks. "Law enforcement, transportation, and emergency management agencies in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. are jointly assessing the situation as it develops," Maryland State Police said in a statement provided to Patch on Friday.
