Charlestown Celebrates Women with a Tour de Force Musical
Patty Carver Performs Her Critically-Acclaimed Patriots of Liberty Show

CATONSVILLE, MD (March 29, 2018) -- Patty Carver (aka Betsy Ross) is seen performing her critically-acclaimed Patriots of Liberty, a one-woman tour de force musical, at Charlestown. Nearly 200 people attended her Women's History Month appearance, which was sponsored by the community's Diversity & Inclusion Council.
Four noted women of American history were portrayed by Carver in her musical: Betsy Ross told her unique story about the first American flag; Deborah Sampson told of her adventures when she disguised herself as a man to fight in the Revolutionary War; Elizabeth Cady Stanton spoke of the Women’s Suffrage Movement, women’s dress reform and her contemporary, Harriet Tubman; Amelia Earhart told the story of her solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean.
Carver is a professional singer, actress and writer with international credits. She has performed in New York, Los Angeles and London and has been seen across the country in Regional, Stock and Dinner Theatre doing a lot of Musical Theatre. Her favorites include, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, 7 Brides for 7 Brothers Oklahoma, Damn Yankees and They’re Playing Our Song, just to name a few.

Carver has sung in clubs and cabarets in New York City and along the East Coast. She is co-founder and Artistic Director of the professional national touring company Connecticut Children’s Theatre. She has written over 40 original musicals for young audiences which have been produced and performed for over one million children through national tours and New York productions. Her musicals have featured the talents of great performers such as Bea Arthur, Jack Klugman, Marla Gibbs, Ernest Borgnine and Brigitte Bardot.
Carver ( https://www.pattycarver.com/shows ) also wrote Definitely Doris, the Music of Doris Day, produced in New York, Boston, London and Los Angeles as well as Seneca Falls, a musical based on the Women’s Rights Movement and American Heroines, featuring great women of American history. She is creator and featured performer in Patty’s Green, a live musical variety show dedicated to showcasing the performance and creative arts for young audiences. Patty’s Green is regarded as one of the greatest live shows for pre-K through 2nd graders created for the stage in Connecticut.
