The Hamsa Represents Extended Hand of Middle East Origin

CATONSVILLE, MD -- Suzanne Levitt, a member of Beth Tfiloh Synagogue, is seen hanging the Hamsa on Charlestown retirement community’s lobby Christmas tree.

The Hamsa represents an extended hand of Middle East origin: Jewish and Christian faiths.

It brings health, happiness and luck for a good life, according to Levitt, who is a former high school teacher.
