Charlestown Executive Makes Friendly ALDS Bet with Her Detroit-Area Counterpart

NOVI, MI (September 30, 2014) – Michael McCormick, the Executive Director of Fox Run in Novi, MI, today talked congenial “smack” and made a friendly bet on the outcome of the American League Division Series between the Detroit Tigers and the Baltimore Orioles with his Baltimore-area counterparts at Charlestown (Catonsville, MD) and Oak Crest (Parkville, MD).

He bet a Michigan gift basket filled with Saunders hot fudge, Vernors Ginger Ale, Traverse City Cherries, Faygo Red Pop, Mackinac Island Fudge.

In return, Clara Parker, the Executive Director of Charlestown, and Gary Hibbs, the Executive Director of Oak Crest, bet a Maryland gift basket filled with Berger cookies, Utz old bay potato chips, and assorted seafood culinary delights.

“You are going to need to travel to Michigan to get some fudge this year because the Tigers pitching will make sure Fox Run doesn’t have to send any,” said McCormick in an email.

Parker promptly responded by saying, “In your dreams. The Orioles home run hitting lineup will be too much for Tigers pitchers to handle.”

Hibbs, whose childhood baseball idol was Yankee Hall of Famer Yogi Berra, said, “It ain’t over ‘til it’s over.”

Fox Run, Charlestown and Oak Crest, combined, have more than 5,000 residents. They are managed by Erickson Living.
