Charlestown to Hold July 29 International Fashion Extravaganza

WHAT:

A Wednesday, July 29 (11:30 a.m. – Noon), International Fashion Extravaganza in Catonsville, MD, in which nearly 20 Charlestown retirement community residents and staff will model cultural attire from their native countries of India, Africa, the Philippines, Nigeria, Japan, China, Israel, Scotland, Germany, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

Hundreds of fellow residents and staff will applaud them as they “walk down the runway.” They will talk about their attire and their native countries.

They will model fashions in a multi-purpose room decorated with international flags and festive with international music.

Samples of the following desserts will be offered: cannolis, dulce buleche, tiramisu, éclairs, baklava, fortune cookies, apple pie, and cheesecake.

This International Fashion Extravaganza is sponsored by Charlestown’s Diversity & Inclusion Council.
