Charlestown Residents Donate Books and Eyeglasses

Charlestown residents cleaned out their apartments in September and demonstrated their generosity in the latest Rotary/Lions Club’s book and eyeglass collection.

Hundreds of pairs of eye glasses were donated to Lions Club volunteers. The eyeglasses will be recycled to assist individuals with vision impairment.

In addition, thousands of books were donated to help keep books circulated among the public and to improve literacy.

This volunteer project was supported by the Fab Forties club at Charlestown to assist in recycling unused items.
