Charlestown Residents Make 143 Vintage Wooden Toys and Donate Them to Toys for Tots

Inlcuded are Pull Toys of Trains, and Fish That Wiggle When Pulled

CATONSVILLE, MD (December 8, 2016) -- A total of 143 vintage wooden toys made by members of Charlestown retirement community’s woodshop today were delivered the U.S. Marines for its Toys for Tots project. The toys will be given to underprivileged children for the holiday season.

The toys included pull toys of trains, fish that wiggle when pulled, simple wood puzzles, piggy banks, shape fit toys, stack block type toys, wood road graders, old time cars and pick-ups, and cradles with hand sewn dolls.

U.S. Marines Staff Sgt. Brandon Valentine (seen in photo) received the toys from resident Jimmy Mullis, the coordinator of the woodshop.
