Charlestown Residents Raise $242,506 to Thank Their Hourly Staff

Money BenefIts Staff From All Departments

CATONSVILLE, MD (December 15, 2015) -- Residents of Charlestown retirement community in Catonsville, MD, contributed $242,506 to their campus’ Staff Appreciation Fund to show their appreciation to their hourly staff for jobs well done in 2015.

The money benefitted 908 hourly staff members from all departments, including Dining Services, General Services and Health Services. This fundraising campaign among residents is done annually during the holiday season.

Charlestown, which has more than 2,000 residents, offers extensive wellness and prevention programs, balance assessment and fall prevention programs, and Fitness and Aquatics Center.

Also, there are nearly 300 resident-inspired and resident-led clubs, committees and interest groups in these categories: art; cards; computers & technology; dance; faith-based and interfaith; film, fitness and sports; games; gardening; investments; lifelong learning; music; literature, philanthropy; political awareness; theater; woodworking; and writing.
