Charlestown Residents/Staff Help Riverview Elementary School

$1,000 and 10 large boxes of school supplies donated.

Charlestown retirement community residents and have donated $1,000 and 10 large boxes of school supplies – hundreds of crayons, #2 pencils, glue sticks, erasers, scissors, and notebooks – to support Riverview Elementary School.

This two-week project was sponsored by the Erickson Living Values Team and the Fab 40 group to help low-income students who attend the school. Many Charlestown residents volunteer throughout the year at the school.

“This was an opportunity for a resident-run group and a staff group to come together and raise money and supplies for a great cause,” said Amy Sarro, a social worker in the Resident Services department. ““Our Intermissions Department staff and residents even decorated boxes for the donations.”
