Resident Bill Montague told how he often met Orioles legend Brooks Robinson at Lexington Market. “Brooks is two weeks older than me,” said Montague, who brought his glove to the pep rally. “I used to say, ‘Hey, Brooks, what’s an old guy like you doing here with a young guy like me?’
”Brooks is the best person you’d ever want to meet.”
Everyone yelled repeated “O-R-I-O-L-E-S!” cheers in the Charlestown lounge/bar before the pep rally ended.
