Charlestown's Edward M. Dunn, Jr. Pens Autobiography
Book Shares and Examines His Life and Family History
CATONSVILLE, MD (July 28, 2015) -- What comes now is a result of what came before. In “This is Me” (published by Xlibris), author Edward M. Dunn, Jr. (a resident of the Charlestown Retirement Community) shares and examines his life and family history by penning an autobiography meant as a legacy for his grandchildren.
The author adds to the storied Dunn family history, with his own life story in “This is Me.” As legacy of his ancestors lived in him, he wrote this book to pass it on to the next generation of Dunns, to whatever stories and histories they may set out to make. For everyone else, this is a story of a life well-lived, an example of how to live life to the fullest.

About the Author
Edward M. Dunn, Jr. was born on Nov. 5, 1925 in Baltimore, Md. In high school (the Baltimore City College), he played trumpet in the marching band and concert band. He was also the member of the Red Cross Club and the vice president of his homeroom.
He also participated in the athletic programs as a member of the wrestling team, cross country team and ran the mile on the track team. He had to leave high school one month before graduation to enter the United States Army Air Corp. where he was trained as an aerial gunner.

After returning to civilian life, he attended the University of Baltimore and graduated with a B.S. degree in Accounting. He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the States of Maryland and Florida. He also owned an insurance agency. He served in Elected Public Office of Treasurer, Commissioner and Councilman of Anne Arundel Country in Maryland.
He was dedicated to community service and served his community as Deputy Chief of their volunteer fire department. He also held offices in the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Firefighters Association and is a member of their Hall of Fame. He also held many positions in the Maryland State Vol. Firefighters Association and Maryland Fire Chief’s Assistant, as well as actively participating in his church where he served in several offices.
