Charlestown's Inaugural Preakness Hat Contest is a Winning Celebration

CATONSVILLE, MD (May 19, 2017) – Assistant Dining Manager Cynthia Porcher (seen standing in photo) today won First Place in Charlestown retirement community's inaugural Preakness Hat Contest. She is seen with resident Sandra MacDonald.

They were among 16 employees and residents who participated in the lunchtime event sponsored by the Charlestown Human Resources Department.

Also seen celebrating in photos are Charlestown’s Administration staff and the community’s Human Resources staff.

The contest was held in the lobby of the signature dining Terrace Cafe, which featured a special Crab Pretzel entree. Banter focused on post-time enjoyment of a Black Eyed Susan, the official drink of the Preakness Stakes.
