Charlestown's Score-Calling Stuffed Oriole Bird Has New Perch

CATONSVILLE, MD (July 2, 2015) -- Charlestown’s score-calling stuffed Oriole Bird today unveiled his new, chic perch at the retirement community.

Gone are the past magic markered, handwritten index cards that listed game scores on them.

His new perch, which resembles a mini scoreboard, features Orioles logos. It also makes good-natured, mocking reference to ”the other team.”

The Oriole Bird, who is owned by resident Florence Wolfel, has announced game scores each day for the past 17 years.

He has a cult following among residents and staff.
