Police Release More Info on Ellicott City Dunkin' Donuts Crash
Howard County officials identified driver and possible cause of the crash.

One person remains hospitalized Monday after a crash Sunday evening at the Dunkin’ Donuts on US Route 40 in Ellicott City, the Howard County Police Department reports.
Patricia Elizabeth Voelkel, 77, was driving a 2006 Acura MDX when for reasons that are still under investigation, she drove through the front of the Dunkin’ Donuts in the 8400 block of Baltimore National Pike, according to Lori Boone of the Howard County Police Department.
“Through preliminary investigation, police believe that the vehicle pulled into a parking space and came to a stop before suddenly lurching forward over the curb and into the building,” according to a statement from the Howard County Police Department.
