Puppet Show Charms Charlestown Residents

Ventriloquism, Stories and Songs Mark The Puppet and Story Works' Performance

CATONSVILLE, MD (May 24, 2016) -- Zany golden ager puppets Clarence and Viola Lovejoy (aka Dotti and Steve Seitz pictured) today sang Perry Como's "Magic Moments" during a multi-talent show in Charlestown retirement community's Rennaissance Gardens community room. They were part of an entourage from The Puppet and Story Works of Harrisburg, PA.

The 45-minute show featured ventriloquism, stories and songs. Nearly 100 residents attended, with several of them dancing to puppet Sidney Bird's rendition of Michael Jackson's "Rockin' Robin."

Puppet Luke Warm Water, an old-as-dirt Native American, brought the house down, so-to-speak, when he sang a Jimmy Durante-esque version of "Young at Heart."

Puppet Sad Wolf, accompanied by Not So Little Red Riding Hood, sang Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs' "Little Red Riding Hood."

The puppets seemed to come to life under Dotti's ventriloquist spell. Steve portrayed 80-year-old-something Pennsylvania Dutch story raconteur John Knupp throughout.
