Salsa: Level I "Fundamentals for the Beginner" (NY Mambo Style on2)

Join Baltimore Salsa Dance Company Inc. for our upcoming progressive Salsa Level I class “Fundamentals for the Beginner”! This class is progressive and is broken down into three monthly segments for a total of 12 weeks, there will be a main topic to focus on for each month.

Just as the title says, this level is for those who are absolute beginners. This level is most appropriate for those who have no prior dance experience. In this level, students will work on learning the fundamentals of the dance, including how to begin dancing on the correct beat, the basic step, simple footwork patterns, and patterns in partnership. When dancing On2, however, men and women emphasize the second beat of the music. Another way to explain this is to consider whether someone is breaking On2 or On1, meaning whether someone changes his or her body’s direction on the first or the second beat of the music.

THIS CLASS WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAYS AT 11AM AND STARTS ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6TH.

***Students may sign up for the entire 12 week progressive session or may also sign up for a single 4 week series

Cost: $55/per month
($45 per month or $125 for 12 weeks for Studio Members)
