UMBC Undergraduate Students Tour Charlestown and Learn About Career Options

CATONSVILLE, MD (April 11, 2017) – Undergraduate students from UMBC toured Charlestown as part of their university’s week-long “Fields of Opportunity, Careers in Aging” focus. One of the goals was to get them to consider career options at the retirement community.

The students (seen in attached photo) were Economics, Biology, and Computer Science majors. Some were enrolled in the Erickson School of Aging’s Management in Aging Services program.

Senior recruiter Amy Bishop gave them a behind-the-scenes look at operations at Charlestown’s 110-acre campus and answered their questions. They met with residents and staff.

There are 1,150 Charlestown employees (full and part-time, combined) who work in a variety of disciplines such as healthcare, hospitality, general services, social work, and many administrative functions.
