• This College Park landmark has been wrong for 35 years: It has finally been fixed (foxbaltimore.com) — A quirky College Park landmark on the University of Maryland's McKeldin Mall—its long-misaligned sundial—has finally been corrected after 35 years of wrong seasonal markers. Astronomy chair Andrew Harris and facilities crews repositioned the markers so students and visitors can accurately track the sun's changing path and better appreciate how solar time differs from clock time. 
• Maryland joins coalition challenging proposed four-year limit on international student visas (wusa9.com) — International students at the University of Maryland, College Park could see their study plans disrupted by a proposed federal rule that caps student visas at four years. Maryland's attorney general has joined a multistate coalition asking a court to block the change, arguing it would hurt long graduate programs, research, and the finances of public universities across the state.
