10 Charged in Prostitution Sting in Howard County

Two men arrested for allegedly soliciting prostitution were Columbia residents, Howard County police said.

JESSUP, MD — A "reverse prostitution sting" in Howard County netted 10 arrests, police reported Tuesday.

The latest sting took place in the 8100 block of Washington Boulevard in Jessup, where 10 men showed up Monday after reading an ad that police had placed on Backpage.com, a website often used in the sex business.

The men had called a phone number from the ad, spoken with female officers and arrived at a hotel after they asked to meet. When they showed up, the Howard County Police Department placed the following individuals under arrest for solicitation of prostitution:

  • Cesar A. Angel-Sermeno, 32, Columbia
  • Garland D. Hodges, 51, Nottingham
  • Douglas Dixon, 30, Prince Frederick
  • Juan P. Rodriguez, 30, Beltsville
  • Jacob L. Cramer, 34, Huntingtown
  • Cuong T. Le, 22, Jessup
  • Osman P. Akcam, 53, Perry Hall
  • John C. Organ, 27, Silver Spring
  • Drew T. Kramer, 25, Baltimore

Court records show the arrests occurred on Monday, Sept. 12.

The Howard County Police Department regularly posts ads on Backpage alerting potential clients and victims that they are watching and offering resources for support.
