2 Men Killed In High Speed Chase

A man from Hanover was one of two people in a speeding vehicle that reached upwards of 100 mph, according to police.

HANOVER, MD — Two people were killed in a police pursuit that reached speeds as high as 100 mph late last week.

Donte Jerron Dejesus Jr., 20, of Hanover, and Amori Elona Terrell, 19, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, were killed on Thursday morning while attempting to flee from officers in Maryland. A third person remains in critical condition after the crash and a fourth was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition as of Friday.

The incident started around 12:50 a.m. April 9 when a deputy from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office spied a vehicle speeding on I-70 near the Monocacy River. The deputy was unable to catch up to the driver, as his speed topped 100 mph, the sheriff's office stated.

The vehicle and the deputy steered off the highway onto Monocacy Boulevard and continued onto East Patrick Street and the the driver accelerated, pulling out of sight of the sheriff's deputy, according to authorities.

At approximately 12:53 a.m., the deputy found the vehicle crashed and with multiple injuries in the area of S. East Street and the roundabout. The crash remains under investigation, officials stated.
