3 Howard County High Schools Among Top 10 in MD: U.S. News

U.S. News and World Report has released its rankings of 21,000 public high schools across the country, again placing some Howard County schools among the best educations that America has to offer. Overall, Maryland was at the top of the list of states with nationally ranked high schools. Virginia was ranked No. 12.

This year's list put three high schools from Howard County in the top 10 in the state, versus last year when only two were included.

Here are Maryland's top 10 schools:

1. Walt Whitman High, Bethesda, Montgomery County Public Schools, #63 Nationally
2. Winston Churchill High, Potomac, Montgomery County Public Schools, #94 Nationally
3. Poolesville High, Poolesville, Montgomery County Public Schools, #107 Nationally
4. Thomas S. Wootton High, Rockville, Montgomery County Public Schools, #115 Nationally
5. Walter Johnson High, Bethesda, Montgomery County Public Schools, #147 Nationally
6. Richard Montgomery High, Rockville, Montgomery County Public School, #260 Nationally
7. River Hill High, Clarksville, Howard County Public Schools, #263 Nationally
8. Severna Park High, Severna Park, Anne Arundel County Public Schools, #299 Nationally
9. Marriotts Ridge High, Marriottsville, Howard County Public Schools, #331 Nationally
10. Centennial High, Ellicott City, Howard County Public Schools, #333 Nationally
