3 Teens Charged In Wilde Lake Stabbing

COLUMBIA, MD — Three teens have been charged in a Columbia stabbing that occurred earlier this week on a footpath near Wilde Lake. The 16-year-old who was stabbed is in good condition, police reported.

Authorities said that the suspects are students at Wilde Lake High School, where there was a fight in early December that may have been a factor in the stabbing. The victim is a former student, according to police.

These three suspects were charged as adults with first and second-degree assault in the case, police said:

• Dakiah Robinson, 18, of Eliots Oak Road
• Malcom Moore, 18, of Brook Way
• Zarek Lynch, 17, of Brook Way

Police said that the charges stem from injuries to Shane McCray, 18, of Green Mountain Circle in Columbia. He was found with two stab wounds at 4:46 p.m. on Monday after a 911 caller reported someone injured in the 10300 block of Daystar Court.

Police said that McCray was walking on a footpath behind Daystar Court toward Wilde Lake High School when a group of teens assaulted him between the parking lot and football field. He was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries, police said at the time. He was upgraded to good condition as of Wednesday afternoon, according to officials.

Robinson was being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center, while police said that Moore and Lynch were being booked.
