Another Knife Incident Reported On Stevens Forest Road

A 13-year-old was arrested in the second knifepoint assault in as many days on Stevens Forest Road, police said. Two suspects are at large.

COLUMBIA, MD — Police said a man was robbed at knifepoint by three teenage boys Tuesday night in the 5600 block of Stevens Forest Road. One of the suspects was arrested.

The stolen item was recovered, officials reported, and nobody was injured.

The robbery happened at 9:39 p.m. when three teens allegedly approached a man and threatened him with a knife. Police said the suspects took the man's cell phone, which was recovered when they ran away.

A 13-year-old boy was taken into custody and charged as a juvenile with attempted robbery, police said.

Officials are investigating the other suspects, described as two black teens who are 5 feet 7 inches tall and 5 feet 2 inches tall. The taller suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and the shorter teen was wearing a baseball hat and black hooded sweatshirt, according to police.

The incident was the second involving a knife in as many days on Stevens Forest Road.

Police said that a boy was threatened by two people with a knife who proceeded to slash his bike tires in the 5800 block of Stevens Forest Road at 8 p.m. on Monday.

"Police are investigating the possibility that they are related," Howard County police spokesman Seth Hoffman told Patch on Wednesday.
