Bike To Work Day 2019 To Take Off In Columbia

The Howard County Bike To Work Day festivities will be at the Whole Foods on Friday, May 17.

From Howard County: Howard Commuter Solutions and the Office of Transportation, in partnership with the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, will host a “Bike to Work Day” event on Friday, May 17 from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. at Whole Foods Market in Columbia.

Celebrated each spring across the nation, “Bike to Work Day” promotes a clean, fun, healthy way to commute and is part of our region’s Clean Commute Initiative. Howard County’s event will run in tandem with events taking place in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, and Harford counties.

Howard County is committed to making it easy for people of all ages and abilities to get around by bicycle, primarily through the BikeHoward program (www.BikeHoward.com) and BikeHoward Express, a three-year focused implementation plan to complete a 48-mile network of biking routes in Howard County. Howard County Executive, Calvin Ball, recently committed $2.2 million to bike infrastructure improvements in his proposed FY2020 capital budget.
