CarneyKelehan Attorney Joins Dancel Family Center Y Board

Heather Swan, an attorney with Columbia-based law firm Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett and Scherr LLP, joined the advisory board of the Dancel Family Center Y. Part of the Y of Central Maryland, the Dancel Family Center in Ellicott City, Md., features pools and gyms, a climbing wall, fitness floor, teen and senior centers, and multipurpose rooms.

Swan specializes in commercial real estate transactions from contract negotiations through closing, as well as entity formation and title insurance matters. Swan’s practice also includes representation of land developers forming homeowners’ associations and condominiums as well as landlords and tenants in commercial lease negotiations.

Swan has significant experience representing lenders and borrowers, including U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-financed multifamily housing projects and in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac transactions. She also has represented parties with HUD-servicing issues.

A graduate of the Leadership Howard County Essentials program, Swan is a board member of Columbia Housing Corporation. She earned her law degree from The Catholic University and her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University.
