Columbia Man Charged In Death Of 21-Year-Old: Police
Howard County police charged Franck Ngande, 22, of Columbia, with first-degree murder in the July 20 shooting death of a 21-year-old man.

COLUMBIA, MD — A Columbia man is facing multiple charges including first-degree murder for allegedly shooting another man and killing him, according to police. Franck Ngande, 22, of Columbia, was charged by Howard County police in connection with a July 20 shooting that resulted in the death of 21-year-old Taiwon Dashon Dorsey.
Police were called to the 12000 block of Little Patuxent Parkway at approximately 1:30 p.m. July 20 for a report of a man who was shot. Officers found Dorsey suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he later died.
Later, police learned Dorsey had an ongoing dispute with Ngande. On the day of the shooting, Dorsey and a friend went to Ngande’s neighborhood, and the two men got into a physical fight, according to police. Ngande reportedly went into his home, retrieved a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting Dorsey once as he and his friend ran. Dorsey then ran toward Little Patuxent Parkway, where he collapsed.

Ngande is being held without bail at Howard County Detention Center. In addition to first-degree murder, he is facing charges of attempted murder, assault, drug possession and the use of a firearm in a felony.
