Decision from HoCo Public Schools About Thursday
Howard County Public School System gives status update for Thursday, Jan. 28, and explains how decisions are made.

The Howard County Public School System announced that schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 28.
All evening activities at schools, whether sponsored by schools or community organizations, are canceled.
School offices will be open, according to school officials.

This is the fifth snow day for Howard County students related to the blizzard that hit over the weekend; school was also canceled on Wednesday, Jan. 27; Tuesday, Jan. 26; Monday, Jan. 25; and Friday, Jan. 22.
Superintendent Renee Foose provided information about how schools make weather decisions in a blog post on the Howard County Public School System’s website, explaining factors such as sidewalk conditions, heat functionality, route accessibility and other considerations come into play. Read it here.
