
Every parent needs a night off once in a while and thanks to training by American Red Cross of the Chesapeake Region, parents can have more peace of mind when they leave their children in the hands of a Red Cross trained babysitter.
Red Cross babysitter’s training courses are designed for boys and girls 11 to 16 years of age and topics include
first-aid, diapering, feeding, reacting to an emergency or sudden illness, how to interview for a job, age appropriate play and supervision of children. The course is $85 and upon completion students receive Red Cross first-aid supplies, flashlight and emergency information notepad.
The next Red Cross Babysitter training class is scheduled for February 16 from 9:00AM to 4:00PM at the Owen Brown Community Center in Columbia. This class will have an American Sign Language interpreter to accommodate deaf/hearing impaired students. The class is not limited to the hearing impaired. To register, call 800-733-2767,
