Free Meals Offered Through Aug. 28 For Howard County Youth

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The summer meal program offered by the Howard County Public School System will extend through Aug. 28 because the start of the 2020-2021 school year has been pushed back. However, starting Aug. 3, meals will not be served at the following sites:

• Longfellow Elementary School
• Howard County Library System Central Branch
• Howard County Library System East Columbia Branch.

New meal sites will be opened at the Long Reach Village Center and the North Laurel Community Center.

Meals are available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. weekdays. Participants are given two meals, breakfast and lunch, for that day. Friday distributions at school-based locations only will include meals to last children through the weekend.

Meals will be provided to anyone age 18 and under and/or any HCPSS student, regardless of age. Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age or disability. Children do not need to be present; parents/guardians may pick up meals for their child or children. There is no application, enrollment or fees to participate in this program.
