The volunteers of the Grassroots Day Resource Center were presented the Community Impact Award at the recent Association of Community Services Humanitarian Awards Luncheon.

In making the presentation, ACS representatives cited the 150 volunteers who “ensure that people have a safe place to come in from the heat or cold, to take a shower and clean their belongings. They provide food for the pantry, clothing for the clothes closet, hot lunch, and a warm smile.” In operation for over 10 years, the DRC serves approximately 100 people a day, primarily through the efforts of its volunteers.

The Day Resource Center is located at 10390 Guilford Road, Suite A, Jessup, 20794. It is managed by Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center. For information, visit www.daycenter.org .
