Howard County First Responders Salute Fallen PG County Officer
Howard County first responders lined the I-95 overpass to recognize the policeman who was killed Wednesday helping a neighbor in Brandywine.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — After a Prince George's County police officer was gunned down while assisting a neighbor, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services paid tribute in a visible way. Howard County firefighters stood along the Interstate 95 overpass and saluted as the vehicle carrying the body of Corporal Mujahid A. Ramzziddin was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore.
Ramzziddin is a 14-year veteran of the police force who is a husband and father to four children.
The Prince George's County Police Department tweeted: "We cannot thank you enough..." on Wednesday evening, sharing photos of the Howard County emergency officials who lined I-95.

Ramzziddin was fatally shot while off-duty, according to officials.
"A neighbor came to him at his home — he was not working — needing help," Prince George's County Police Chief Hank Stawinski said of what transpired in Brandywine on Wednesday morning. "He immediately responded to that plea for help, and shortly thereafter found himself in confrontation with a man armed with a shotgun....He saved her life by giving his own."
