
Kevin Kelehan, a partner with Columbia-based law firm Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett and Scherr, was selected by his peers for inclusion in the real estate law practice area of The Best Lawyers in America 2014, the oldest peer-review publication in the legal profession.
Kelehan specializes in real estate law, representing lenders and borrowers throughout the acquisition and development process. In addition, Kelehan has an active construction law practice, representing several of the region’s contractors, and serves as a resource to national firms for both local representation and specialty work in government contracting.
Among his community service activities, Kelehan currently serves as Section Council member for the Maryland State Bar Association’s Construction Law Section, as general counsel for the Columbia Festival of the Arts and is a board member of the Howard Community College Educational Foundation.
In addition, Kelehan has served as a board member for the Maryland Pro Bono Resource Center and as the Howard County pro bono liaison to the Maryland State Bar Association. Kelehan is a graduate of Leadership Howard County and earned the organization’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 1999.
Kelehan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore and bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He lives in Baltimore City and has practiced law in Howard County his entire career.
