Mugging in Long Reach: Columbia Crime
Bicycle thefts, school burglary and other incidents were recently reported to the Howard County Police Department.

The Howard County Police Department provided the following information.
A man was cut on the arm in the 8800 block of Rollright Court in a robbery. At 8:50 p.m. on April 12, the suspect approached a man and demanded he empty his pockets. When the man refused, the suspect went through his pockets, they struggled and the suspect cut the victim’s arm and fled. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for a minor injury and released. There was no property taken. The suspect was described as a bald black man in his mid-20s with a beard, approximately 6’2” to 6’3”, 190 pounds and wearing a black hoodie.
Hammond Middle School was burglarized over the weekend. An iPad mini, LCD projector, radio, speakers and two fire extinguishers were stolen from the school in the 8100 block of Alladin Drive. The suspect(s) broke the lock to the roof hatch to get in sometime between 11 p.m. on April 10 and 7:45 a.m. on April 13.

The side loading dock garage door was pried open at the Columbia Flier building in the 107500 block of Little Patuxent Parkway sometime between March 31 and April 13. Nothing was reported stolen.
A handgun, old coins and set of silverware were stolen from a home in the 6600 block of Corina Court. It was not clear how the suspect(s) got into the house. The incident, which was reported late, occurred sometime between January and March. Officials are investigating.

Two bicycles were stolen from an open garage in the 5800 block of Wild Orange Gate between 5 and 6 p.m. on April 12.
A bicycle was stolen from a garage attached to a home in the 12000 block of White Cord Way. The theft occurred sometime between Feb. 28 and April 12. The door might have been left open or unlocked.
